Middlesbrough 10k Run 2013
Sep 12, 2013
At the weekend I put on my running shoes and participated in the annual Middlesbrough 10k event. Just ahead of the big race there’s a short fun run during which I stood on the side-lines cheering on family and friends, young and old, before they kindly returned the favour by supporting me for main race.
It was the second time I’ve had chance to take part in this excellent event which is proving to be a real boost to the town, a lot of effort clearly goes into the organisation and it’s rewarded by outstanding participation from both the runners and supporters alike –and from what I’ve seen it’s getting better year on year.
I completed the course in a respectable time of 44 minutes 11 seconds. My preparation for this year’s run was extremely limited as I was lucky enough this year to go on holiday for most of August, and yet still I beat my 45 minute target and finished just outside the top 10%.
Roll on next year!
